6. Articles = Traffic

In the last Chapter we finished off by mentioning "themeing". We will be moving on to that soon, but before we do, let’s look at article pages, and discuss how these can increase our website traffic, and increase the chances of affiliate sales.

Articles have a very special role in the overall functioning and ranking of a web site.

Articles can:

clip_image001[16] get your site traffic from the search engines

clip_image001[17] increase the ranking of other pages on your site

clip_image001[18] get you recognised as a leading expert in your field

clip_image001[19] build confidence in your visitors

clip_image001[20] funnel visitors to main pages where you are selling products

clip_image001[21] easily make income via Adsense (or similar)

clip_image001[22] establish your site as an authority in the niche

clip_image002[4]Note that I started by saying "articles can", not "articles will". The reason for this is simple. Done badly, or incorrectly, articles wont rank well, and can even get you into trouble.
